Steven Buck

I have a Masters Degree in Counseling and have been providing therapy with clients for over 30 years. I also competed a 2 yr post graduate counseling program with Provident Counseling here in the St. Louis region in which I worked with clients under supervision, often being observed behind a one-way mirror with clients by staff and other therapists. I worked at an acute care psychiatric hospital for approximately 20 years working closely with psychiatrists and nurses. Thus, I have witnessed wide range of psychiatric issues ranging from psychosis to adjustment disorders. I have also maintained a Private Practice and have worked with governmental agencies such as Division of Family Services (kids in foster care) and local Juvenile Offices.

I consider myself a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist with a special interest in systemic issues such as structure within the home, boundaries, communication and conflict resolution. I am goal oriented and establish workable, achievable goals with my clients. I also attempt to demonstrate to my clients that I am attempting to understand their messages by attempting to repeat, summarize and paraphrase what they have revealed to me.
