After retiring from the USAF in September 1994, I pursued graduate studies at Northwest Nazarene University. I earned a Master's in Education with an emphasis on counseling. Notably, I fulfilled all licensure requirements except for the National Counseling Exam (NCE). Following my graduation in June 1998, I sat for the NCE and passed on my first attempt. Since then, I have obtained multiple certifications, including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, moral reconation therapy, among others. I have kept my license active since 1999 and upgraded it to Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in February 2004.
I have dedicated myself to helping clients and their families navigate life's challenges, particularly those dealing with major depression, bipolar mood disorder, generalized anxiety, grief and loss, substance use issues, and trauma. I look forward to assisting any individual and their family address the problems that come from dealing with what life throws your way.
