Dr. Lucy Evans
,Lucy Evans, Dr.Ph, LMSW
I’m a passionate mental health professional with a Doctor of Public Health (Dr.PH) and a Master of Social Work (MSW). My educational path has taken me through some fantastic programs, including Walden University and the University of Maryland School of Social Work, where I gained a solid understanding of both clinical practice and the broader public health context surrounding mental health.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working in various roles that have shaped my approach to therapy. Currently, I serve as a psychotherapist at TalkSpace, where I conduct assessments and craft personalized treatment plans for clients dealing with challenges like anxiety, depression, and trauma. I’ve also worked as a VA Case Manager with the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless, where I focused on providing support to veterans navigating their mental health journeys. This experience taught me the importance of empathy, advocacy, and addressing the unique needs of each individual.
My therapy philosophy revolves around being client-centered. I truly believe that everyone has the potential for growth and healing. My aim is to create a warm and welcoming space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. I often use cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques to help clients recognize and challenge negative thought patterns. This process empowers them to develop healthier coping strategies and take an active role in their own healing.
What drives me as a therapist is the opportunity to witness clients’ journeys of self-discovery and resilience. I view therapy as a partnership, where we work together to navigate challenges and celebrate victories, no matter how small. It’s incredibly rewarding to support individuals in reaching their personal goals and to be a part of their healing process. I’m committed to ongoing learning and growth in my practice, always striving to provide the best care possible.

"Going into therapy has already made a positive difference in my life just one month in. I'm beginning to think clearer and develop long term habits and structure in my life. CBT is helping me identify and restructure my negative thoughts and habits, allowing me to get back on my feet instead of dwelling in them. I will be continuing this program for the foreseeable future to help me through my tough times."

"Online Therapy has been a lifeline to regain myself. Going through life issues that I could have never imagined in my wildest dreams. Dr. Lucy Evans has been helpful in a way that is hard to describe. Living in a twilight zone - she has helped me navigate life and regain my life.
The entire process has been a worthwhile endeavor.
The idea that I can reach out when I have time & need to express my pain & grief & not necessarily wait for an appointment has been invaluable.
The amount of assistance provided by the technical team is top notch customer service.
I highly recommend this service for anyone who is unsure whether an online system is worthwhile!"
