About Me

I'm a little unusual as a therapist, in that I exist quite visibly outside of the therapy "room". However, as someone who genuinely believes that the key to mental freedom lies in the ability to be ourselves, I think it's best to advocate for living a life you want to be in. I bring an open-minded, encouraging, but no-nonsense approach that bridges the gap between therapy and coaching. I think this sort of space is more often than not about finding the right person for you to explore the nitty-gritty nuance of your life with, as well as having scope to figure things out more practically alongside some honest company.

I like to be at the fore of innovation in practice, and solution focussed strategies (getting results) are my professional bread and butter when it comes to how we work together. I'm eclectically trained, meaning we can be flexible in our approach, though on here we pivot around the cognitive model. Even if you hate CBT (which I hear a lot), it's very rare that we can't find a way for this to actually work in your favour, so a "trust the process" perspective is helpful to hold on to. If you know you're not ready to do the work though (totally fine), save your money and use free online resources, a lot of them are great and you won't feel like you've wasted your time.

In terms of my clinical background: I'm an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Published Researcher and Specialist Vocal coach working internationally in my private practice, and here on Online-Therapy offering CBT specifically. Prior to this, I worked in public and private practices both online and in person, and mobilised the first mental health social work sector for veterans with complex trauma in the UK.
