It's so great to meet you. Thank you for giving me some info as to what prompted you to seek out therapy. As you know, my name is Kristian and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who will be working with you. I want to welcome you and congratulate you for making the decision to come here and ask for help. That shows your insight and willingness to improve your life. I would also like to know what you prefer that I call you - should I call you by your birth name or is there a nickname you prefer? Also, which pronouns do you identify with?
I know it could be difficult to talk to someone who you have never met before about personal struggles, and so I would like to encourage you to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable on this platform. I want to help you in making any changes, improvements, and/or gaining the level of acceptance that you desire. This is a non-judgmental space, and I will be simultaneously validating and honest in my perspective. I have worked in settings like private practices, prisons, schools, and hospitals.
