Katherine “Hollie” Fisher
,LPC
Hello and welcome! It is really nice to meet you. My name is Hollie Fisher, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Idaho. Deciding to reach out for counseling is a very personal step centered around trust and the desire to live the life you want to live. I believe every individual has a right to be happy and to live your best life. It will be my goal to help you overcome any obstacles that get in the way of living your best life. We will do this by find the courage to let go of the past and focus on the future. My approach to reaching this goal centers around my believe that true healing happens within relationships. You and I will foster a relationship of trust, respect and compassion and work towards the life you want to lead.
I have spent most of my professional career in the education setting, 28 years to be exact. I have worked as a high school English teacher, an assistant principal and now as a high school counselor. Because I have spent so much time working in the high school environment, I have a special connection to teens. Struggling with mental health is very real; many of our teens struggle with anxiety, depression, peer pressure, trauma, bullying etc., but with some everyday tools, there is always hope that things can and will get better. Oftentimes teens simply feel so overwhelmed and out of control that they do not know where to begin. I will work with your adolescent to find their locus of control to successfully overcome the challenges they face. I believe every young person deserves to live their best life.
Even though I have spent a large portion of my professional career working with adolescents, I have a strong understanding of adults and compassion to help. Adults are faced with countless challenges every day, and sometimes things can just be too much. I enjoy helping people navigate through whatever challenges and obstacles that may arise. I believe, again, everyone has a right to be happy and to live to their fullest potential. The first step is recognizing what brought you to counseling and then discovering tools and skills to move forward. I use a very solution focused approach-what can I do to make my life better today? The past is important, but I believe the future is the focus.
I look forward to meeting you!
