Kariana Yulfo

Hello! My name is Kariana Yulfo Matias. I consider myself an active listener, respectful and empathic. I have 8 years of experience providing therapy and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and elders as individuals, groups, and families. I speak Spanish and English.

Helping clients reach their goals and improve their lives as a mental health therapist involves a combination of empathetic listening, evidence-based interventions, and collaborative goal setting. As a therapist, my role is not only to provide support and guidance, but also to empower clients to recognize their strengths, develop coping skills, and make lasting changes. I enjoy being their for my clients in every step of the way. I am open and honest and provide a holistic approach to the clients based on their need and specifically what are they seeking in therapy.

My background has been working in a psychiatric hospital, school, hospice and now Telehealth. I enjoy working with clients and getting them to their goals by asking them "what are they searching for" and after providing ways on how can we work as a team to achieve what they have been searching for. I have also worked in group therapy for addiction and substance abuse so I do believe that getting to where we expect, it is possible! Everyone can change if they are willing to and I am able to be an instrument guiding clients to their goals.

After the first session, my goal is that you can develop better cognitive and emotional skills, reduce symptoms of mental illness, and cope with various life challenges to improve your life. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties and build meaningful social connections.
