About Me

My name is Janice Burnham, Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been a counselor for twenty-nine years. I have experience counseling individuals, couples, families, and groups. I have done speaking and workshop presentations and also crisis counseling. I have served in positions in the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, the Dallas Metro Counseling Association, and as a Senator in the Texas Counseling Association. I have found cognitive behaviorlal therapy to be very effective in helping individuals. Skills one learns in counseling and then puts into practice can make a positive difference in one's life. With knowledge and skills gained in counseling, individuals have the opportunity to see the world differently, positively, and embrace a more meaningful life. Knowledge and skills can make a difference in the life of a person. It can bring peace, joy, and understanding. Life can be perplexing at times, but also has silver linings. Sometimes one can actually be surprised to find those silver linings.
