I have a Bachelor of Science in History from Liberty University and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. I am in the dissertation phase of a Counseling Education and Supervision Ph.D. program at Walden University. I became a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) in 2013 and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in January 2023. I have specialized in collaborating with people with disabilities and have developed my clinical mental health skill set over the last two years.
My counseling philosophy emphasizes the therapeutic relationship with an emphasis on practical application. I have experience as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, counseling manager, mental health clinician, and vocational evaluator. I combine cognitive approaches with psychodynamic emphases and positive psychology. My interests include adapting mental health therapy to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, disability acceptance processes, and disability-related competencies in clinical supervision.
