I am very happy you have decided to read about my education, work experiences and philosophy of therapy. I know I have something to offer you.

I earned the PhD in psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and have pursued advanced professional training in group and individual therapy, tests and measurements, personality disorders, ethics, cultural diversity, substance abuse and cognitive behavioral therapy, to name only a few of the areas in which I have gained additional training.

I have been licensed for more than 35 years for the independent practice of psychology in Washington, DC and the state of Maryland. I am a dedicated, committed therapist who wants to assist you in reaching your highest potential.
I engaged in a successful and traditional office practice as New Awareness, Incorporated, between 1986 and 2008.

I have worked as an Employee Assistance Program contract counselor with the federal government and a transportation authority.

I directed community-based, residential treatment programs for substance abusers: adults and adolescents.

I have just completed five years directing a program in a correctional facility for male offenders who have had trouble avoiding the use of drugs once they return to their communities.

In all of these endeavors, men and women who have worked with me have reported improved lives 75 percent of the time.

My approach to therapy and personal change is based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also use techniques captured by mindfulness and client-centered therapy.
