Angelie Greene-Burse
,LPC
I am originally from New York City. I have lived and worked in Georgia over 37 years. I received my BA in Sociology from St. Leo University and my MA from Mercer University. I have worked at Georgia Institute of Technology for over 15 years when I decided to pursue my calling to become a Psychotherapist. I have over 17 years of counseling experience. I have worked with clients who have had challenges with addictions, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, military families, parenting, foster care aging out and retention, changing careers, domestic violence, trauma and emotional abuse.
My counseling approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I pull from various theories to help clients; but focus on how one's thoughts, feelings and actions are connected and play a role in maladaptive behaviors. I often use various tools such as therapeutic activities, worksheets and homework assignments as warranted. Respect, sensitivity and compassion are my strengths. I am committed to helping "everyday people" who experience "everyday problems". I believe in working with clients in a collaborative fashion to set achievable goals. I use humor and a gentle yet direct approach during therapy. It takes courage to take the first steps towards change! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the process!
