Dr. Andrew Davis
,PhD
I am originally from Oklahoma and began my educational journey at Oral Roberts University. I completed undergrad there and then moved to San Diego for my doctoral program. I graduated with my Doctor of Philosophy degree in clinical psychology in 2014 from Alliant International University. I then joined the United States Air Force Reserves in May 2014 and completed Officer Training School.
Since May 2014 I have served as a clinical psychologist in the Air Force treating service members in both in-patient hospital settings and in out-patient clinical settings. In my ten-year career with the Air Force, I have deployed numerous times to both Iraq and Afghanistan, serving as a combat psychologist and providing mental health support services to our service members in combat zones. I have also conducted research involving the association between traumatic brain injuries and cognitive decline and mental health disorders in service members and veterans. In April 2024 I was medically retired from the Air Force Reserves due to medical injuries suffered on deployment to Afghanistan in 2021.
Prior to retiring from the Air Force Reserves, I began a private practice in Los Angeles focusing on the needs of the LGBTQ+ community and lower-income individuals. Since 2016 I have treated more than 450 patients with issues ranging from depression, bi-polar, stress and anxiety, PTSD and gender identity. I take a solutions-focused approach to therapy that involves pursuing integrative/holistic methods, blending both CBT and behavioral therapy. I prioritize patients' needs and am dedicated to ensuring full access to mental health services. I also have extensive experience conducting teletherapy sessions through Zoom.
I am applying to www.online-therapy.com to both supplement my current income and to eventually transition to a remote-only teletherapy practice.
