Feeling agitated and anxious and becoming sad and tired due to pressure and setbacks is just natural. It is something that we all encounter in life. But if you feel that you can seldom or never control your anxiety and fear and that this has had long-term negative effects on your life, then you might be suffering from generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).

GAD is characterized by chronic worrying about basically every aspect of your life, including work, money, health and relationships. This can, in turn, lead to common anxiety symptoms like insomnia, tense muscles, headache, grinding of teeth, excess sweating, dry mouth, rapid heartbeat, stomach problems and a need to urinate more often.

Our therapy for GAD is based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). With the help of CBT and your therapist, you will learn how to identify the negative and irrational thoughts that cause your anxiety and replace them with positive and rational thoughts and behavior patterns. Using this GAD online therapy program you will learn relaxation techniques, problem solving strategies, ways to enhance your self-esteem and overcome your fears. Your therapist will help you to gradually expose yourself to situations that cause your worry, and eventually you will be able to do this feeling less anxious and with a greater sense of mastery. You will learn skills to take control over your worry, so you feel more empowered in life.

"I found Dr. Lucy Evans via the Online Therapy portal, and she has been amazing. If she is a representation of the therapists that are screened for this site, then I would recommend it to anyone. Dr. Evans is incredibly brilliant at what she does and takes my real world scenarios and helps me understand the cause and effect using psychological and physiological principals. The therapy portal is always consistent and sends meeting reminders regularly at a great interval. I love the worksheets and yoga, all the extras that the portal offers with therapy."

"I would like to talk about the good. I really didn't care for the first therapist. I met with her twice. Like many, I was worried about getting a good one, and more worried about switching if I had to. I didn't have any choice in the first one. She was just assigned to me. But switching was painless and far easier than I thought. I didn't need to explain or anything. You just hit a button to switch and then I had about a dozen choices. I enjoy my second therapist much better.

The CBT part of the website. I am not sure how I feel about it. I wanted to try guided CBT and this website does a good job. I one face to face therapist before trying this website and she also wasn't very good. But the way she introduced and did CBT with me also wasn't good. This website does a great job of breaking it down with video and worksheets. I am about 70% done with video and worksheets and the early stuff helped me realize some problem areas, but some of the later work sheets just aren't clicking with me. I don't know. Maybe my issues are too complex. Or one week one thing is bothering me, a couple weeks later its something else. If I had a singular issue I could see CBT working better for me, but my self talk and automatic negative thoughts have not been consistent through out this trouble period of my life. I am not saying it hasn't been helpful, it has.

Either way, I see the CBT as kinda a bonus and not the main reason I signed up. I live overseas and English speaking therapists are extremely hard to find or EXTREMELY expensive. So the main reason I joined was be able to have access to a live therapist that speaks English. I am happy with how this website handles that and far cheaper for than local therapists.
